Niaba, the Netherlands’ Biotech Industry Association, focuses on improving the business climate for life sciences in the Netherlands. We believe that a strong and competitive life sciences cluster is vital for a knowledge based bio-economy. With more than 70 members Niaba represents the majority of the Dutch biotechnological companies and related organisations in human and animal healthcare, food, feed, agriculture and environment. Among its members are large multinational companies such as Unilever, DSM, Syngenta and Schering-Plough, but also smaller biotechnological companies, major research institutes, specialized consultancies and associations in related sectors. The primary focus is on the Netherlands but through our active membership of EuropaBio we also represent our members in the European Union. Niaba organizes symposia and courses on topics related to biotechnology, like the Masterclass BioBusiness. Furthermore we are actively engaged in the dialogue with stakeholders, policy makers and the governme   to work together on coherent and competitive regulatory and legal frameworks. Niaba fosters the responsible use of biotechnology to ensure that its potential is fully used to the benefit of humans and the environment.
